Unleashing Renewable Energy Development for Non-Profits

We bridge the gap between trusted community institutions and the technical expertise needed for successful renewable energy projects.

By delivering professionally managed solar and battery storage solutions, we empower civic-sector organizations to lower energy costs and enhance resilience in their communities.

  • We enable energy resilience for hospitals and clinics during outages

  • We reduce energy costs and boost resilience for schools and universities

  • We help local governments save costs and meet zero-carbon energy targets

  • We power churches to be resilience hubs after hurricanes

  • CEO

Joshua Cox earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, where he was a four-year varsity baseball letterman and received the William Neely Mallory Award, Yale’s highest athletic honor. After graduation, he taught middle school English at New Orleans College Prep Charter School, but recognized that education alone would not solve inequality. He attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Fels Institute of Government to learn how the law shapes politics, finance, and corporate governance.

In 2014, Josh returned to New Orleans and practiced commercial litigation for three years before serving as Director of Policy and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Orleans Parish School Board. Soon after, he became Senior Advisor and Director of Strategic Initiatives to Mayor LaToya Cantrell. There, he managed philanthropic partnerships, oversaw board appointments, and helped coordinate the city’s COVID-19 response, including a workforce development initiative that re-employed hospitality workers as community health professionals.

From 2022 to 2025, Josh led Resilience Works, a national labor brokerage committed to building the workforce needed to address climate change. He now serves as CEO of Community Power South, a nonprofit solar developer leveraging federal and state incentives to help churches, schools, and community institutions establish resilience hubs through solar and battery installations that reduce carbon emissions and deliver power after hurricanes.

She has served as a finance consultant and interim CFO for a range of nonprofits, from legal services and environmental advocacy to social enterprises. Her leadership has helped organizations navigate complex financial challenges, secure critical funding, and implement financial systems to support long-term growth.

Ting-ting previously served as CFO of the Louisiana Recovery School District, overseeing a $100 million budget during a period of financial restructuring. She holds a B.A. from Yale University, an MPA from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, and has completed MBA coursework at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business.

  • Technical Director

To achieve climate resiliency, Pierre believes zero carbon energy needs to be affordable and accessible to all. In his early career, Pierre founded and successfully scaled Make It Right Solar, a for-profit subsidiary of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation. He went on to structure and complete more than 250 solar PV projects – 130 of which were installed on LEED Platinum buildings. His project expertise includes public and private portfolios of distributed generation assets and solar plus storage microgrids.

Within roles at private equity and transaction advisory firms, Pierre helped infrastructure investors source, underwrite, and execute solar PV and energy storage investments. He currently serves as the President of 127 Energy, heading operations in clean energy finance and project development.

Pierre holds a BS from the College of Charleston and an MBA from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business where he continues to serve as an adjunct professor and board member of the Tulane Energy Institute.

“Community Power South is the secret weapon non-profits need to bring the benefits of solar to their communities.”
